1. Tell us about the L5.
Who are they and what influence have you had on
them? Who is your favorite of the L5 characters? Why?
The L5 will shortly be hiring
their own press agent, and I wouldn't want to step on his toes.
As for my favorite, well…lets just say they are all near
and dear to my heart, though some of them used machetes to get
there.
2. What are some of your favorite of the L5 artworks?
I like most of them, but
I must say my favorite is actually Slaughter and
Ground Zero during WWII. I am also highly fond of the "gallery
logo" art and the majority of the vileness in GZ's basement.
3. What is it like working
with Youkai Hime? Is he, in truth, an utter
masochist?
Youkai is great…a very
enthusiastic, humorous and technically savvy fellow…which
is good since I am a reclusive asshole. It's also nice that he
has an appreciation for the more twisted things in life.
Yes, he is an utter masochist, which is why we live on different
planes of
existence. (grin)
4. What member of the L5 is most like you and why?
Hum, tough call. In actuality,
I would have to say Slaughter. He is
absolutely my utter ID: a hard-drinking, narcissistic, hedonistic
blonde.
5. What member of the L5 do you find the most disturbing and why?
Excavia…I love her to death, but sometimes her whole "natural victim" thing creeps me out.
6. What is your favorite Anime movie?
Um, here's a surprise…Urotsukidoji: Legend of the Overfiend (but only the unedited version)…but I am also a huge fan of the Ranma ½ Series as well.
7. What L5 member would you be most afraid to take home to meet your parents and why?
Ona. She would undoubtedly show up sans underwear.
8. What kind of car would you buy for Slaughter?
A GTO. Accept no substitutes.
9. Um, yeah, what sort of "stuff" influenced your creative side?
I have always had a very
violent side, and a "perverted" one as well. I am
not positive about where it all came from, but I know that for
as long as I
have been writing and drawing, my work has been, um, a bit outside
the norm. Style-wise, I am obviously heavily influenced by Anime
and Manga, as well as North American-Style Comic art (favorite
artists being Tod McFarlen (Spawn), Everette Hartsoe (Razor) and
Ian Churchill (Marvel)… I also LOVED the Kabuki series).
A lot of people, especially women, find me rather horrifying and I do in fact have the distinct pleasure of once being labeled as a "traitor to my gender". My general response to that sort of thing is that if I wasn't drawing and writing it, my dark side would get no air time, and when you don't give your dark side air time, that's when you really get in trouble…I mean, think about how many horrific serial killers and mass murderers were described as "nice, quiet, types." Perhaps if they drew or wrote more, they wouldn't have ended up such true real life monsters.
10. While it is utterly obvious that both you and Youkai Hime are demented perverts, what would be your ideal weekend, as illustrated by you?
I don't have enough pencils, red ink and tequila for that.
11. What are your favorite book, movie, song, food, and color?
Book: 1984 (What? You were
expecting American Psycho?)
Movie: Big Trouble in Little China or Fight Club (What? You were
expecting American Psycho?)
Song: Beast by KMFDM (sense a running theme here?)
Food: Human Flesh (Ah HA, I gotcha!) Actually, I am very fond
of Mexican Food.

12. Are you as spooky as your profile illustration?
Most of the time. Sometimes I look really freakin' bad.
13. Okay, you are stuck
fighting a steel cage match against Youkai...which
member of the L5 do you take as your tag team partner and why?
Who from the L5 do you dread Youkai coming to the ring with?
Slaughter, absolutely. I'd hope Youkai would not pick Nemesis, cause he just has this way of talking until A: you either die of boredom, or B: Feel so inferior you'd just run from the ring weeping like a little girl.
14. Which members of the L5 should get tattoos?
Nemesis, Ground Zero and Excavia.
15. Which members of the L5 would you most like to have threesome with? Who would you avoid carnal contact with?
Nemesis and Slaughter, I
mean…come on…
I would probably avoid Ground Zero (because she is a homicidal
lunatic) and Ona (gods only know what diseases that one has ::Grin::).
16. What was it in your life that made you so demented? Should
you be on
any medications?
Must have been that freak grain thresher accident, or something in the water of my home state. That, or the gods just really have a twisted sense of humor. As for medications....does Tequila count? I could defeinately stand to be on a contestant regimen of tequila.
17. If you were given one
million dollars, but could only spend it at one
store, what store would it be? And the purchases?
Screw that, I'd just buy the whole store and stock it with stuff I wanted....
18. I see that you are blessed with metamorphosing tentacles. Does this run in your family?
Ahh, no. It's the result of a genetic accident caused either once again by a freak run in with a grain thesher or the water in my home state...
19. If Ona and Excavia snapped
one day, and decided to exact revenge for
being brutalized in the past, which one of them would be scarier,
and which other L5 member would be in the most trouble?
Excavia would be scarier, I think. For some reason I don't really see Ona turning into a hysterical, blood covered lunitic with an ice pick in one hand and a martini in the other, but picturing Excavia like that is all too easy. She's the more volatile of the two, and the less human. As for who would be in the most trouble, I think GZ would be the woman of the hour. Slaughter may be brutal, and Nemesis may be condescending, but neither of them are as outright vicious as she is...especially to Excavia.
20. Which member of L5 do you think needs the most attitude adjustment, and why?
Well, the obvious answer is GZ, but frankly I sorta like her attitude.
21. I notice no sexual interaction
between Nemesis and Slaughter. If there
ever was, who would wear the "pants in the family",
so to speak?
Correct. Both Nemesis and Slaughter are straight, though not above "sharing". However, were they ever locked up and forced to be cell mates, I think that Slaughter would end up, at least sexually, "wearing the pants'. In fact, Nemesis would probably not make a huge issue over it, as he is the smarter of the two and by letting Slaughter be the "butch" one, he could find other more important ways of gaining control in the relationship. Just because Slaughter would be on top does not mean he might not turn out to truly be Nemesis's bitch....
22. If L5 were forced to
stop their normal activities and get jobs, where
would each of them gain employment?
Excavia would probably make a fantastic event coordinator, you know, the person that makes all the arrangements for big conventions, parties, political dinners and things like that. She has a good sense of style and good social skills, plus a love of spending other peoples money...
Ona would be a bartender...she's a good listener.
For some reason, I can see Nemesis as the host of his own talkshow... kinda like "Jerry Springer". Either that or a sports management mogul...I mean, the guy could talk the paint off a wall, and that would come in handy when trying to milk 35 million dollar contracts out of desperate sports teams. Plus both those professions would probably attract a lot of good looking women, which would make him happy.
Slaughter and Ground Zero
could probably never hold down regular jobs...I mean, the first
time either one of them raped and/or dismembered their boss, they
would end up locked away in a small, quiet room for a very, very
long time. That's why most companies are very hesitant to hire
half-fiends (except for law firms, of course). But for the theoretical,
I can see Slaughter as one of those fitness model / personal trainer
types and GZ as a Medical Examiner or bailbondsman.
